The Minister of Public Health announced that Thailand's Ministry of Public Health will co-host the Global Digital Health Forum (GDHF) 2026, the first convening of the Forum in Asia, from 2–4 December 2026 in Bangkok, with support from WHO Thailand. The Forum will bring together health leaders and partners from around the world to exchange knowledge and experience in digital health, discuss policy directions, and promote the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to make health systems more efficient and equitable, benefiting all population groups.
15 October 2026 – Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, announced that the Ministry of Public Health has been honoured to co-host the Global Digital Health Forum (GDHF) 2026, with support from WHO Thailand. The Forum will take place from 2–4 December 2026 in Bangkok under the theme "Navigating the Next Wave: AI, Innovation and Health for All," marking the first time it will be held in Asia.
Mr. Pattana said that the future of health depends not only on technological advances, but also on putting technology into practice to deliver tangible benefits to people. A sustainable transition to digital health systems therefore requires appropriate technology, effective application in healthcare delivery, strong trust and governance, and collaboration among governments, the private sector, academia, and international partners.
"GDHF 2026 will give participants an opportunity to learn from Thailand's experience in health system development and the application of digital technologies in healthcare delivery within its distinctive social and cultural context. Participants will also exchange knowledge on technologies, innovations, and new approaches with public- and private-sector organisations from around the world, with a view to applying these insights to address health challenges in Thailand and Asia. The Forum will also foster cooperation with international partners to jointly develop health systems that provide quality care, ensure equitable access, and respond to people's needs."
Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, Thailand
Mr. Pattana added that the Forum offers an important opportunity to strengthen digital health cooperation in Asia. Over the past 16 years, GDHF has brought together governments, academia, the private sector, and digital health partners to exchange knowledge and experience and discuss approaches to health system development. The Ministry of Public Health therefore invites executives, health professionals, academics, innovators, and partners from Thailand, Asia, and around the world to participate in the Forum and help shape the development of efficient, equitable, and sustainable digital health systems.
